The Washington Redskins went down against the New York Giants, but are Jay Gruden and Greg Manusky out for the count? The head coach and defensive coordinator have faced off against that very question throughout 2019, but with the nationally exposed loss to the Chicago Bears on Monday Night Football, the reaper might be walking the halls. Dan Snyder is reported to have been extremely upset by the loss to the Dallas Cowboys in Week 2, and after the poor showing in Week 3, the coaching combo better pick it up if they don't want to pack it up.

Gruden can turn to rookie standout Terry McLaurin, who's on pace for a monster year, putting up Pro Bowl caliber numbers through three weeks, scoring a touchdown in every game. While McLaurin looks to be the No. 1 going forward, Redskins alum Joe Theismann wants it to stay that way, expressing his opinion that Washington should "stay away" from Antonio Brown. Manusky will have to find a spark, maybe he can call London Fletcher, the new Redskins Ring of Honor inductee in for a pick-up speech, although Fletcher may not be so keen to join team events in the near future since they can't seem to spell his name.

History suggests Jay Gruden, Greg Manusky's jobs are safe, but history isn't always right :: NBC Sports

The buzz revolves around the coaching staff, where defensive coordinator Greg Manusky and head coach Jay Gruden continue to keep their foot wedged in the door, despite the evidence on the field that they're not getting the job done. If they fall to the Giants in Week 4, that may change.

"Team sources in Ashburn have described an incredibly explosive situation where Gruden and Manusky‘s jobs are on the line next week in New York.

While sources have said Snyder was “livid” after his Redskins got blasted by the Cowboys in Week 2 and that Snyder and Allen stayed at FedEx Field until well past 2 a.m. Tuesday morning after the embarrassing 31-15 loss to the Bears, it seems the staff will remain intact for Week 4."

Fletcher spent seven seasons in burgundy and gold, playing for the Redskins from 2007-2013. The former middle linebacker was honored by the team on Monday night as he was inducted into the Redskins Ring of Honor, the only problem is that they spelled his name wrong on the video board, "London Flecther."

Redskins keep finding different ways to lose :: Associated Press

The Redskins ineptitude in 2019 seems to keep finding new ways to present itself. The team had hung early with both the Eagles and Cowboys before giving way, but on Monday Night they were down big, early. The Bears ran out to a 28 point lead and the rest, as the say, is history.

While Redskins fans are calling for Gruden's job en mass, the head coach isn't hearing it, or at least he won't say he is. When asked about whether he felt his job was in the line week-to-week, he responded as such:

"No. I haven't felt like that. But who knows?" Gruden said. "I'm just trying to concentrate on the Giants right now, put our best foot forward, learn from our mistakes here and try to get better. That's all we're trying to do here as a staff and go from there."

I mean, what is there really to say here? The Redskins season has been a disorganized mess, and that's now reflected by even the water-boy (man?). Bobby Boucher would cry purified tears of sorrow if he saw this.

The sole bright spot for the Redskins so far this season has been rookie 3rd-round pick Terry McLaurin. He scored another touchdown in Week 3, this time against the vaunted Bears defense, and is currently tracking for special year. While the season is still young, the Redskins may have found their No. 1 wide receiver for years to come.

Joe Theismann Warns Redskins ...Stay Away From Antonio Brown :: TMZ Sports

TMZ got Theismann to stop for a quick interview while he was at the airport, and the former Redskins QB was more than happy to chime in on the disgruntled wide receiver, Brown.

"I wouldn't want to be on a team with him," Theismann tells us. "A lot of questions that I would be asked during the course of the week would be about him. It becomes a distraction to be perfectly honest with you."

This wouldn't make him the highest-paid guard in the league, as he'd be a full million a year behind the Cowboys' Zack Martin, who inked his deal going into the 2018 summer, a lifetime ago in NFL contract times.
