Disaster In The Downpour: Cowboys Clinch Playoffs, But Win Streak Ends In Blowout Loss at Bills
The Dallas Cowboys' five-game winning streak came to an abrupt halt on Sunday, as they lost 31-10 to the Buffalo Bills in arguably their worst performance of the season.
With much of the game taking place in the pouring rain, Dak Prescott and the offense were nowhere near as effective as they have been recently. The Cowboys only crossed midfield three times, one of them only ending in a field goal and the other two coming when the game was well out of reach.
On the other hand, the defense wasn't much better, if at all. The Bills shifted to a more run-heavy offense due to the downpour, and they took advantage of the Cowboys' suspect rushing defense all day. The Cowboys likely would've done the same on their side of the ball, but they were behind all day so they couldn't afford to.

Prescott completed 21 of 34 passes for 134 yards and an interception, with his 57.7 quarterback rating being his second-lowest mark of the season. CeeDee Lamb had seven receptions for 53 yards and a rushing touchdown in garbage time, while Tony Pollard racked up 52 yards on 11 carries.
For Buffalo, Josh Allen completed seven of 15 passes for 93 yards and a touchdown while adding another score on the ground. However, the real star of the show was running back James Cook, who racked up 221 yards and two touchdowns from scrimmage. Latavius Murray added a rushing touchdown of his own.
This marked the Cowboys' first road game in almost a month, and they fell flat. That's concerning not only because two of their remaining three games are away from home, but because they are now back down to a wild card spot after this loss.
The Cowboys will have to figure out their issues in short order, as next up is another tough road game against the Miami Dolphins on Christmas Eve.
