'Tsunami of Pass Rushers' for Cowboys Defense: Who's Left Out?

The Dallas Cowboys defense is anchored by Micah Parsons and DeMarcus Lawrence, building arguably the best EDGE unit in the NFL. But with a surplus of talent at the position, someone has to take a back seat.

Depth is never a bad thing, but DallasCowboys.com says the biggest query with the unit is where Dorance Armstrong, Dante Fowler and Sam Williams fit into this defense.

"The more you look at the situation at the edges in Dallas, the more you're left wondering who. That's not an incomplete sentence, by the way," the site wrote.

And that's a legitimate problem Dan Quinn is facing. There are only so many snaps in a game. Armstrong had 8.5 sacks in 2022 and Fowler logged six sacks last season. Williams had four but took the biggest leap of maybe any Dallas player this offseason.

"The fact is there is so much talent at the position that the challenge boils down to who, outside of Parsons and Lawrence, will get what percentage of reps. Quinn has a tsunami of pass rushers to unleash, and it'll be interesting to see how he makes sure everyone eats," the article concluded.

Is there such a thing as too many chefs in the kitchen when it comes to EDGE rushers? Well, the 2023 Cowboys certainly put the question to the test. The unit is the scariest in the league, but the entire unit can't all share the field at once.
