Norton has experience as a defensive coordinator and was a standout as an NFL linebacker for 13 seasons, winning three Super Bowls. … in a row - the only player to accomplish that feat.

Norton was on Dallas’ title teams in 1992 and 1993 and then with his move via free agency won the championship again with the San Francisco 49ers the next year.

Norton will work under new Commanders defensive coordinator Joe Whitt Jr., who moves from Dallas to DC with mentor Quinn.

Quinn’s offensive staff will meanwhile be led by Kliff Kingsbury.

The Cowboys on Monday finalized their move to replace Quinn with the hiring of Mike Zimmer to head coach Mike McCarthy‘s staff at The Star.
