ARLINGTON - Dallas Cowboys All-Pro "Lion-backer'' Micah Parsons has never shied away from aiming high - and from talking openly about it.

But he's also acutely aware that to be one of the all-time greats, as is one of his goals, he's got to achieve greatness on a consistent basis.

And now the perennial NFL Defensive Player of the Year candidate has done exactly that, as he's in his third year in the league and has just matched the incomparable Reggie White in a notable category ...

Only two guys have ever started their careers with at least 12 sacks in each of their first three seasons.

The Hall of Famer White once stood alone. Now Micah joins him after registering a sack in this "Sunday Night Football'' meeting with the visiting Philadelphia Eagles here at AT&T Stadium.

Micah recorded sack number 12.5 of 2023 in the second quarter of this game, and yes, he now has over 12 sacks in each of his first three seasons played.

And all of this seems to fit his personal goal-oriented timeline, as he told us this summer, “When you talk about great careers, [when] you talk about the Hall of Fame, like I don't think I just want to make the Hall of Fame. I just want to be known as one of the greatest Hall of Famers.

"There’s categories to everything. There’s good. There’s great and there’s like, perfect ...When you talk about me, I don’t want to just be mentioned in the Hall of Fame. Yeah, that's a great accolade, but I want to be one of the greatest in the Hall of Fame.”

Three seasons in? Micah is getting there.

White did it from 1985 to 1987 ... starring for the Eagles and Packers ... but he also did it as a more mature player, as he began his pro career in the USFL.

Parsons, on the other hand, took the NFL by storm as a "true rookie'' after being Dallas' first-round pick in the 2021 NFL Draft. And as the Eagles are learning here, with the Cowboys trying to rise to the top of the NFC East?

Micah Parsons is still storming.
