Cowboys New Jersey Numbers Reveal: Rookie Class Look
FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys front office is showing a great deal of pride in its haul of talent from the 2023 NFL Draft.
And now it is with pride that the newcomers will sport their new uniform numbers for “America’s Team.”
The Cowboys on Tuesday offered up the big reveal and it unfolds like this, the Cowboys rookie jersey numbers (according to the team’s website) listed here in numerical order …
DeMarvion Overshown, LB, No. 35
Eric Scott, CB, No. 37
Deuce Vaughn, RB, No. 42
Mazi Smith, DT, No. 58
Asim Richards, OL, No. 76
Jalen Brooks, WR, No. 83
Luke Schoonmaker, TE, No. 86
Viliami Fehoko, DL, No. 93
In some cases, including Mazi, guys are carrying over their college numbers. In other cases - Vaughn, for example, that will not fly. The Dallas Cowboys do not officially retire jersey numbers; Emmitt Smith once got No. 22 despite Bob Hayes’ previous ownership of it … but now?
“I know that No. 22 is 100-percent off the table, so we’re going to have to go and make something (else) shake,” Vaughn said.
These assignments are not yet permanent; other roster moves in the coming months could free up other numbers to the new kids. But it’s a start.
