Cowboys Top 10 RBs in NFL Draft Ranked by 3 Scouts; Beyond Bijan

Is dreaming about Bijan Robinson wearing the star a fantasy football or video game mindset? Not in the sense of what the Cowboys think about the Longhorns standout’s talent.

FRISCO - We’ve now collected the opinions of five NFL scouts. And a theme jumps out when the question is about Bijan Robinson.

“He’s a top-10 pick,” one active team scout tells CowboysSI.com.

“He’s a top-five talent,” another tells us.

Combine these opinions with the work of our colleague John McMullen, who gathered the thoughts of three more former NFL scouts, and …

Bijan Robinson is about to be a very big NFL deal.

Could that “big deal” happen for the Dallas Cowboys?

Is dreaming about Robinson wearing the star a fantasy football or video game mindset? Not in the sense of what the Cowboys think about the Texas Longhorns standout’s talent.

But “talent” and “value” are two different things.

First consideration: McMullen asked three former NFL scouts for their top 10 at the position and came up with a cumulative list …

1. Bijan Robinson, Texas

2. Jahmyr Gibbs, Alabama

3. Zach Charbonnet, UCLA

4. Tyjae Spears, Tulane

5. Devon Achane, Texas A&M

6. Roschon Johnson, Texas

7. Tank Bigsby, Auburn

8. Israel Abanikanda, Pitt

9. Eric Gray, Oklahoma

10. Zach Evans, Ole Miss

We can tell you Dallas has a lot of guys it “likes” in that group.

The Cowboys lead back, according to plans, is the $10 million-tagged Tony Pollard. It’s a sound plan.

But Dallas would also like to stumble across another guy in this NFL Draft. Bijan at No. 26, where the Cowboys pick? An easy call. Spending a fortune in assets to trade up? Too pricy.

Wait for another candidate (Evans, at No. 10 on this list, was among Dallas’ pre-Draft visitors) to fall in place?

Despite the brilliance of Bijan, that’s the most likely scenario.
