Cowboys Top 10 WRs in NFL Draft Ranked by 3 Scouts; 1st-Round Target?

Who's who in this group of receiver prospects in this draft? We ask three former NFL scouts for their top 10 at the position and came up with the following cumulative list as the Cowboys evaluate ...

FRISCO - The Dallas Cowboys don't "need'' to use a premium selection on a wide receiver in this upcoming NFL Draft. But that won't stop them from grabbing a "luxury'' pick early in the process, their interest in doing so reflected in some of their prospect visits to The Star in Frisco.

They've gotten to know Jaxon Smith-Njigba, a Dallas native from Ohio State, and Quentin Johnson, another guy with local ties from TCU, and the speedy Zay Flowers from Boston College, and playmaker Jalin Hyatt of Tennessee.

Who's who in this group? Our colleague John McMullen asked three former NFL scouts for their top 10 at the position and came up with the following cumulative list ...

1. Jaxon Smith-Ngigba, Ohio State

2. Quentin Johnson, TCU

3. Jordan Addison, USC

4. Zay Flowers, Boston College

5. Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee

6. Tyler Scott, Cincinnati

7. Josh Downs, North Carolina

8. Jatden Reed, Michigan State

9. Cedric Tillman, Tennessee

10. Kayshon Boutte, LSU

The Cowboys already employ CeeDee Lamb as their top receiver, and now via trade Brandin Cooks has been added to a room that also includes the hopefully-rebounding Michael Gallup. But Dallas' pre-Draft hints suggest the team believes there is always room for more. And somewhere high in this top-10 list? "More'' is waiting to happen.
