Is Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb 'The Next Davante Adams'?
During a recent interview, Dallas Cowboys wideout CeeDee Lamb received major praise from his colleague, Las Vegas Raiders superstar Davante Adams.
Adams sat down with former All-Pro receiver Brandon Marshall on his I AM ATHLETE podcast, where he was asked to list his top five wide receivers entering next season.
Although bending the parameters of a top five, his list went: 1. Davante Adams, 2A. Justin Jefferson, 2B. Tyreek Hill, 3. Stephon Diggs, 4. Calvin Ridley, 5A. Mike Evans, 5B CeeDee Lamb, and his honorable mentions were Ja'maar Chase, Cooper Kupp and Amari Cooper.
"I like CeeDee Lamb a lot. If you watch the way CeeDee Plays. I think he's going to keep growing. He reminds me of myself a lot as far as the way he moves," Adams said. "The more he continues to do and gets better, he's gonna get a lot more respect."
Adams acknowledged that listing Lamb as the final member of his top five list was likely to upset a lot of people but considered placing him even higher. He also shared the message he gave Lamb this offseason.
"Just keep doin' whatchu doing. Keep staying wit on whatchu on right now because this is gon getchu the typa credit and respect that you deserve moving forward," Adams said to Lamb.
Placing the young Dallas star above a player like Kupp, that in 2021 had arguably the greatest receiving season in history, winning the triple crown [most receptions, yards, and touchdowns] and not only the title of Offensive Player of the Year but Super Bowl MVP honors goes to show just how much credit Lamb gets from his peers.
