‘Ringo Star'? Dallas Cowboys Eying Georgia CB Kelee

Projected as a mid- to late first-round draft pick, what would Georgia Bulldog Kelee Ringo bring to the Dallas Cowboys defense?

The Dallas Cowboys have pick No. 26 in April's NFL Draft and could be looking to improve their defense by selecting Georgia Bulldog cornerback Kelee Ringo.

At the Combine, Ringo tested spectacularly, measuring in at 6-2, 207 pounds and running a 4.36-second 40-yard dash. Numbers like those give him the potential to match up with both speedy and big-bodied receivers in the pros.

During his college career, Ringo would be a part of the Bulldogs’ consecutive National championship winning defenses.

After redshirting the 2020 season, the former top 10 recruit would start 12 games and receive attention from the All-American Freshman team in 2021. Ringo followed up his impressive freshman campaign by earning second-team All-SEC honors thanks to his 42 tackles, two interceptions, and team-high seven pass breakups after starting all 15 of the team's games.

The Cowboys took notice of the physical cornerback, speaking with Ringo at the Combine and giving some of Cowboys Country hope that he would learn from all pro veterans in Trevon Diggs and Stephon Gilmore, upon being drafted, forming one of the league's premier secondaries.

Ringo represents an athletic scheme-independent cornerback with the potential to develop into a player capable of locking down Pro Bowlers such as Darren Waller of the New York Giants and other players that typically represent matches due to their size and speed.

Only a few weeks from the NFL Draft, Ringo stands out as a player capable of becoming the next great cornerback to suit up in blue and silver. Should the Cowboys draft Ringo, hearing that he’ll be wearing the star will be like music to the ears of Cowboys fans.
