Lamar Jackson Trade News: Ravens Tempted; Cowboys Rivals Interested?
FRISCO - The Baltimore Ravens are suddenly whispering about what we already knew: At a contract negotiation standstill with QB Lamar Jackson, they are prepared to be “tempted” by trade offers.
But the Dallas Cowboys probably hope Lamar stays put, with the AFC Ravens. Why? Because they don’t need another NFC obstacle.
Lamar with the Washington Commanders, who have a desperate need and might be a QB away from contention? That’s an NFC East problem.
Lamar with the Seattle Seahawks, who find themselves with the potential to pull off something big as they own the No. 5 and No. 20 overall selections in April's draft, part of the treasure trove taken in their Russell Wilson trade? The Seahawks - a playoff team already prepping to pay quarterback Geno Smith $30 million - would become a real threat.
The Atlanta Falcons? They were all about using first-round picks a year ago to get Deshaun Watson. They’d surely be all about it again in thinking about chasing one of the league's most electric players.
In the end, temptation fades and tempers cool and superstar QBs stay put. In this case? They Cowboys better hope so.
