‘Parsons’ Promise’: Dallas Cowboys Fans Get Micah Vow for Next Season

FRISCO - Dallas Cowboys “Lion-backer” Micah Parsons is issuing a “promise” for the 2024 season. … And what is most interesting about the vow is that it’s all about the “we.”

As a team, Dallas notched some fine accomplishments in 2023, all part of the team’s 15-5 success. And individually? Micah was among the NFL’s most destructive forces as Parsons led all defenders in pressures (103) and pressure rate (21.7 percent) this past season.

So, what is the pledge going forward?

"Next year we will be even better," Parsons wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter. "I promise!"

If Parsons on an individual level is "even better" next season? Given the fact that he was the Defensive Player of the Year runner-up (again), that would be quite something.

But Dallas needs more than that. And Parsons seems to be suggesting that.

He does not, based on his statement, just want to put up big numbers next season; he wants to help the Cowboys make the “leap” - a pet word of head coach Mike McCarthy -  to true Super Bowl contender.

And maybe a maturing leadership ability is the path to that.

"We need to have way more accountability," Parsons said, via Cowboys Country. "I just think we let things slide too often because we know we’re good. That’s all about me. I want to change the culture. I want to change the identity of what the Cowboys are.''

Parsons has been stellar for the Cowboys since entering the league in 2021, with 40.5 sacks. His ability to be a game-wrecker is unexcelled.

But Parsons is telling us here that the Cowboys need more … and he’s promising Cowboys Nation he’ll help Dallas get that done..
