On today's episode of The Daily Hunt: Mike Gesicki's expanded role in Miami's offense.

Last Sunday, the Miami Dolphins won their first game of the 2019 season by defeating the New York Jets 28-16. And although the team was at an all-time high, a season-ending knee injury to rookie WR Preston Williams put damper on things.

Fortunately, the Dolphins could have someone ready and eager to fill the void left behind.

After all, second-year TE Mike Gesicki had his best game of his young NFL Career on Sunday.  Catching 6 receptions for 95 yards and causing fits for the Greg Williams and the Jets Defense.

However, despite his strong showing, Gesicki still thinks he has a ways to go.

I don’t feel like I’m there. I’m never going to have that feeling. I think I’ve got a lot left to prove, a lot of football left, honestly, for us to play this year. I’m going to continue my routine, continue to do what I do. I’ve just got to be ready when my opportunity gets called.”

When asked if he's ready to for the opportunity to step up in O'Shea's offense.

“I think here we just have a next-man-up mentality. I think there’s going to be a lot of guys who are going to help fill that role with some guys not being out there. But ultimately, I think everybody does a good job in preparation to be ready for when their opportunity does get called and when they do have their shot. I think Sunday is going to be another example of that.”
