Why is the National Media upset with Miami's process?

After months of preseason debate surrounding Miami's plan for the 2019 season, it is clear the Dolphins are setting their sights on the 2020 draft.

Tanking is nothing new in the National Football League. Not only did the Colts "suck for Luck," but it is tough to forget how the Browns won just four games in a three-year span.

However, now that the Dolphins are clearly working towards a top pick in the draft, the National Media has an issue with "tanking."

Keep in mind, Domonique Foxworth's take on tanking has been echo'd through other channels.

It seems like the last time the National Media was this upset at Miami it was because they assembled the best basketball team on the planet.

The Dolphins currently own three first-round picks in the 2020 draft. While the cost (the worst NFL team in 2019) is large, Chris Grier and Miami's front office are determined to break the trend of just missing the playoffs.

It is important to remember, there are massive concerns and risks with tanking and nothing is guaranteed. However, if the Texans and Steelers continue their early-season struggles, the Dolphins could be looking at three top-15 picks in the 2020 draft. The Dolphins also own a second round pick from the Saints. With Drew Brees out for some time, that pick could also be more valuable than originally expected.

With a little luck, the Dolphins could find themselves with a team that resembles the Heat, when they won two championships with Dwyane Wade, LeBron James and Chris Bosh.
