BREAKING: Philadelphia Eagles Sign WR Julio Jones

The Philadelphia Eagles have signed future Hall-of-Fame receiver Julio Jones.

The Philadelphia Eagles are wasting no time adding to their offense after Sunday's 20-14 loss to the New York Jets. The Eagles announced Tuesday that they've sign future Hall-of-Fame receiver Julio Jones, who played 10 games with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers last season.

Per ESPN's Adam Schefter, Philly is signing Jones to a one-year deal.

Jones, 34, is currently 16th all-time in career receiving yards (13,629) after being the No. 6 overall pick by the Atlanta Falcons in 2011. He played 10 seasons in Atlanta, helping them make it to Super Bowl LI in 2016 while also leading the league in receiving yards twice (2015, 2018), being named to seven Pro Bowls, and receiving All-Pro honors twice.

Falcons' Julio Jones (11) carries the ball against Eagles' Ronald Darby (21) Thursday, Sept. 6, 2018 in Philadelphia, Pa. Eagles won 18-12.

Jones now arrives to an Eagles receiving room that has some familiar faces, something that Schefter was quick to point out on X.

"Jones will be reunited with his former Titans’ teammate, AJ Brown, who pushed for Tennessee to trade for him from Atlanta. Along with playing with Brown in Tennessee, Jones also previously played with Eagles’ WR Olamide Zaccheaus when the two were together from 2019-2020 in Atlanta."

In seven career games against the Eagles, Jones has 50 catches for 804 yards and five touchdowns. His arrival could signal a looming trade for Quez Watkins, who has yet to find his groove this season.

Regardless of how things play out, it's clear that Jones is looking to contribute to a Super Bowl contender as his career winds down. It remains to be seen if he'll make his Eagles debut in Sunday night's meeting with the Miami Dolphins at Lincoln Financial Field.
