NFL Mock Draft: Philadelphia Eagles Go Back to Georgia Roots?

The Philadelphia Eagles have a history of drafting former Georgia Bulldogs.

The Philadelphia Eagles have earned quite the reputation for drafting former Georgia Bulldogs.

In the last two drafts, the team has selected defensive tackle Jordan Davis, linebacker Nakobe Dean, defensive tackle Jalen Carter, pass rusher Nolan Smith and cornerback Kelee Ringo, all of whom won a National Championship with the Bulldogs.

In Pro Football Network's latest mock draft, which has the Eagles winning the Super Bowl and picking No. 32, has Philadelphia selecting another Bulldog in receiver Ladd McConkey.

Georgia Bulldogs wide receiver Ladd McConkey (84) runs after a catch against the Mississippi Rebels during the first half at Sanford Stadium.

"The Philadelphia Eagles haven’t figured out their WR3 spot yet, and Julio Jones, Olamide Zacchaeus, and Quez Watkins are all slated to hit free agency," Pro Football Network writes.

"Howie Roseman has only drafted trench players, wide receivers, and quarterbacks in Round 1, so we have to stick with the theme. Ladd McConkey’s quickness and hands have made him a standout and would add another dimension to the Eagles’ offense."

The Eagles are a team with very few flaws, so taking the best player available is a strategy they could adopt. If they feel like McConkey could be the best player available at the end of the first round, he certainly wouldn't be a bad addition to the loaded offense.

McConkey, 22, has 26 catches for 418 yards and a touchdown for the Bulldogs this season. On last year's National Championship team, he recorded 58 catches for 762 yards and seven touchdowns, all while running for 134 yards and two scores of his own.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. And the Eagles' approach to drafting Bulldogs has worked for them so far, so why wouldn't it work again?
