Eagles WR A.J. Brown Praised Amid Drama Rumors: ‘You Guys Don’t Know Him!’

Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle Jordan Mailata spoke about A.J. Brown's leadership skills.

There has been a lot of talk recently surrounding Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J. Brown and his role on the team, but offensive tackle Jordan Mailata says that it is all overblown.

"We had a whole team, escape room thing just to build camaraderie," Mailata said via 94 WIP. "That was A.J. All this talk about A.J. not being leader...you guys don't know him like we do. He's a great leader."

Brown has recently begun to decline his media availability after games, but has been adamant that his unwillingness to talk has nothing to do with the media.

A.J. Brown was the Eagles leading receiver against the Cardinals with four catches for 53 yards.

This season has been up and down for both Brown and the Eagles. He broke Calvin Johnson's record of consecutive games with at least 125 receiving yards early on in the season while the team was also winning pretty much every game.

In Brown's last seven games, dating back to the matchup with the Kansas City Chiefs, he has only surpassed 100 receiving yards once in a game, during a blowout loss to the San Francisco 49ers. He also has just one touchdown in that stretch.

He has seen a big drop off in production compared to his first nine games of the season in which he had over 100 receiving yards in six games and caught six touchdowns. Still, his numbers on the season are very impressive.

Brown has caught 105 passes this season on 157 targets for 1,447 yards and seven touchdowns. He is just 50 yards away from breaking the single season record for receiving yards in franchise history, which he set last year on just 88 receptions.
