Philadelphia Eagles Expect Smooth Transition for Kevin Byard 'Student of the Game!'

The Philadelphia Eagles recently traded for safety Kevin Byard, and it shouldn't take long to see him on the field.

The Philadelphia Eagles aren't just sitting back hoping for their roster to speed up so that the team can return to playing championship-caliber football.

While the Eagles have gotten off to a 6-1 start this season, there aren't many who are happy with the way they've done it. If Philadelphia understands anything it's that it isn't enough the team is winning, it needs to win the right way.

That's where the recent trade for former Tennessee Titans veteran safety Kevin Byard comes in.

"I've had a lot of just watching him as a player, being on the other sideline of him when he was in Tennessee and I was in Indy," Eagles coach Nick Sirianni said of Byard. "Obviously as a player, I have a lot of respect there. Then, I also know some people in the building at Tennessee, and they couldn't say more good things about him. Very high praise as a player...as a person, very high praise as a leader."

All trades come with a big question in mind, as everyone wonders how long it will take for the team to see their new player in action.

In Byard's case, it may not take long, and Sirianni says the process could be smoother than others.

"I think so," Sirianni said when asked if Byard's transition could accelerate due to his experience in the league. "He's played in different systems and different ways of doing things ... Everything we know about Kevin is - obviously, besides the playing stuff, it's about how big of a student of the game he is also and then just the type of leader and type of person he is."

With a big matchup against the Washington Commanders coming up on Sunday at FedEx Field, the Eagles would love to see the veteran in action to help them get another NFC East Division win.
