Eagles Linked As 'Best Fit' For Pro Bowl Safety

Despite his head-coaching career lasting all three seasons, his defenses were among the toughest in football, and his relationship with the players was highlighted by powerful testimonials after his removal.

Now, one of the players to give that testimonial is on the open market and available for Fangio's new team.
Justin Simmons' recent release from the Broncos may not have come as a shock now that the safety turned 30, but it's left a Pro Bowl safety on the open market.
According to Bleacher Report's Brad Gagnon, Simmons and the Philadelphia Eagles are listed as one of the league's "Best Fits" for the 2024 free agency slate.
Since being drafted out of Boston College in the third round in 2016, Simmons has spent his eight-year career in Denver. He's also worked with the Eagles' new defensive backs coach Christian Parker, another sign that Gagnon points to as a reason for a reunion of sorts in Philadelphia.
With over $40 million in salary cap space, the Eagles have plenty of room to bring Simmons in. With other top safeties available on the open market, Philadelphia could have their pick of the litter, but a reunion with Fangio and a top safety of his could be too sweet to pass up.
