Eagles, Jalen Hurts Should Have Fans 'Excited' Says Ex WR: 'Imagine!'

Former NFL receiver Nate Burleson is buying the hype on the Philadelphia Eagles, and believes star quarterback Jalen Hurts can be even better in 2023

Fresh off an appearance in Super Bowl LVII, the Philadelphia Eagles are gearing up for another run at a title this season.

The Eagles have received a ton of hype this offseason, being the betting leader to win the NFC again and one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl. They have their doubters like any team, but for the most part, NFL fans and pundits are expecting great things out of Philadelphia this season.

Among those buying the Eagles' hype is Nate Burleson, a former NFL receiver and current co-host of CBS Mornings. In an appearance on CBS News Philadelphia, Burleson assured Eagles fans that there is plenty of reason for optimism as the new season approaches.

"I'll say everybody should be really excited about what the Philadelphia Eagles are going to do," Burleson said. "They had a little bit of a taste, even though they came up short last year."

Burleson also extended that hype to star quarterback Jalen Hurts. Even after Hurts finished second in MVP voting and nearly guided the Eagles to a championship in his third season, Burleson believes his ceiling is even higher.

"And on top of that, Jalen Hurts, getting that new deal," Burleson said. "Sometimes, when you get that money out of the way, contract signed, you play even better. So imagine that for your quarterback."

Hurts was already phenomenal last season. And if he is even better this year, a Super Bowl win is very much in the cards for the Eagles.
