Every player in the league remembers their "Welcome to the NFL" moment as a rookie, which often entails an experience they would prefer to forget. Unfortunately for Philadelphia Eagles left guard Landon Dickerson, this moment unfolded on his first professional football play.

"It was the first play after Brandon [Brooks] got hurt. I came in, and I was like 'I don't know what the f--- I'm doing," Dickerson said on Jason and Travis Kelce's podcast "New Heights." So, I just went back there and tried to do what I thought was right, and I ended up just getting pressed and thrown into the ground.”

Fortunately for Dickerson, his poor performance did not impact the play. Quarterback Jalen Hurts threw an impressive 91-yard pass to receiver Quez Watkins, which became the Eagles' longest non-scoring play of the 2021 season. However, Dickerson still believes that he left his mark at Lincoln Financial Field from that play.

"My a-- cheeks are probably imprinted in the end zone still," Dickerson said.

Dickerson also discussed how the play had undoubtedly caused him embarrassment when he had to return to the facility on Monday after the game. However, he credited the camera crew for saving him from additional embarrassment in front of his teammates.

"I come back in the next Monday, and all I see is a highlight reel of that roll. Luckily, it cuts off right before I get put on my a--, but that was definitely welcome to the NFL," Dickerson said.

Since that play, Dickerson has made remarkable progress in his career. He achieved Pro Bowl status in 2022 and has established himself as one of the league's top left guards. As a third-year player, he has undoubtedly moved on from his "Welcome to the NFL" moment.
