Commanders' Ron Rivera Praises 'Very Good' Eagles, NFC East

The Philadelphia Eagles face off against the Washington Commanders this week in a rivalry game.

The Philadelphia Eagles play their first divisional matchup this weekend when the Washington Commanders come to town.

The Eagles are fresh off a win on Monday Night Football against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, in which they became just one of three teams to start their season with a 3-0 record.

In most divisions, that would provide a comfortable lead. However, in the NFC East, the Eagles have the Dallas Cowboys and Commanders right on their tails just one game back.

“I think it's very good," Commanders coach Ron Rivera said of the NFC East. "This is as competitive as I've seen it in a while. I remember back in the day when you had to worry about Washington and you had to worry about Philadelphia and you had to worry about New York and Dallas. There was a time when all four were just constantly vying for the division. It's kind of cool to see it kind of spark back up and come back to life and hopefully we can maintain our part of the bargain.”

Last season, the Eagles came out on top, but two of their three losses came against the NFC East ... including their home game against the Commanders which gave them their first defeat of the season.

If the Eagles want to prevent that from happening again, they have to bring their A-game against the Commanders, who have something to prove after a 37-3 bashing against the Buffalo Bills on their home field last week.
