BREAKING: Eagles Trade Up, Select Georgia CB Kelee Ringo at Pick No. 105

The Philadelphia Eagles have added another former Georgia Bulldogs defender to their defense by drafting cornerback Kelee Ringo.

Howie Roseman traded up in the final minutes before Day 3 of the 2023 NFL Draft began, and had his eyes on another Georgia Bulldog.

The Philadelphia Eagles traded up higher in the fourth round to No. 105 with the Houston Texans to select Georgia cornerback Kelee Ringo, making him the third former Bulldog the Eagles have selected in this draft alone.

The Eagles used their two first-round picks on Ringo's Georgia teammates, taking Jalen Carter at No. 9 and Nolan Smith at No. 30.

It was funny because I was saying this, and I'm not trying to overshadow those guys because they do a great job, but I went to Georgia last year at practice, and I remember coming back and being like -- Coach was like, 'Who did you like there?' and I'm like, 'I don't know, like the whole defense,'" Roseman said of his conversation with Kirby Smart.

Ringo was arguably the best player in the secondary on the best defense and team in college football this past season.

He finished another championship-winning season at Georgia with 42 total tackles, seven passes defended, one forced fumble and two interceptions. And in 2021, one of his two interceptions resulted in a game-clinching 79-yard pick-six in the College Football Playoff Final against the Alabama Crimson Tide.

At the combine, he showed off with a blistering 4.36 40-yard dash, which was tied for the fifth-best 40 among defensive backs.

The Eagles will now wait till they're back on the clock in the seventh round at pick No. 219.
