Netflix premiered an exciting eight-episode series titled "Quarterback" this month, offering viewers never-before-seen access to the lives of three NFL signal-callers.

The series features behind-the-scenes footage of Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes, Minnesota Vikings quarterback Kirk Cousins, and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Marcus Mariota.

However, the show could have been vastly different, as Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts said he turned down the opportunity to be featured on the series last year. Additionally, when he was approached about appearing in Season 2, he once again declined the offer.

Hurts confirmed that he hasn't watched "Quarterback" yet, but when asked to be a cast member a year ago, he felt the show wouldn't be a good match for him.

"I actually turned it down last year. I didn't feel it was appropriate for the year so I turned down the opportunity to be on it," Hurts said.

Nevertheless, Hurts believes that someday he will participate in a project that narrates his story, but he acknowledges that there is still a lot of time until that happens.

"That time will come. There's a lot of the journey to be told, and there's a lot yet to unfold that will be told one day, and that time will come," Hurts said.

The hypothetical first season of "Quarterback," featuring both Mahomes and Hurts, would undoubtedly have been a must-watch television event, particularly given their appearances in Super Bowl LVIII. However, fans will have to wait and see how Hurts utilizes film to narrate his career story.
