Eagles Sign LB Zach Cunningham: Instant-Impact Tackle Machine?

Zach Cunningham and Myles Jack will now look to aid an elite Philadelphia Eagles defense in getting back to the Super Bowl.

The Philadelphia Eagles are making moves at the linebacker position on Sunday, as the team is signing two proven players to one-year deals.

In addition to signing former Jacksonville Jaguars linebacker Myles Jack, the Eagles announced that they are signing former Houston Texans and Tennessee Titans linebacker Zach Cunningham, who led the league in total tackles (164) in 2020 while with Houston.

The pair of signings come after Philly's second-year linebacker Nakobe Dean got injured during Thursday's training camp practice. A team source told Eagles Today that "he's fine," but the new faces at the position show the Eagles feel they need more depth behind Dean.

Cunningham and Jack will now look to aid an elite Eagles defense in getting back to the Super Bowl.

Cunningham, a second-round pick by the Texans in 2017, was traded to the Titans during the 2021 season. He was thought to be a missing piece on defense for a Tennessee team that secured a 12-5 record and the No. 1 seed in the AFC Playoffs that season, but the Titans bowed out to the eventual conference champion Cincinnati Bengals in the Divisional Round.

Leading the Titans in tackles that game was none other than Cunningham, who had 10. He's played in four career postseason games, and will now look to add to that total this season.
