Watch: Atlanta Falcons at Arizona Cardinals Injury Report for Week 6
The Falcons are heading into their Week 6 game against the Arizona Cardinals with serious weaknesses in their secondary.
Starting cornerback Desmond Trufant is dealing with a toe injury that has kept him out of practice all week and Blidi Wreh-Wilson missed practice for the second week in a row with a groin injury. Both have been declared out for Week 6.
The Falcons will also field their third punter of the season this week. Matt Wile, signed to replace starting punter Matt Bosher, has a right quadriceps problem that has him ruled out for Sunday’s game. The Falcons signed Kasey Redfern, who last punted for the Detroit Lions in 2017, to the practice squad. He’ll be promoted to the roster before the game.
There is some positive news on the injury front for the Falcons for a change. Safety Ricardo Allen and wide receiver Julio Jones were limited in practice all week but will play against the Cardinals. Guard Jamon Brown and safety Damontae Kazee are both out of concussion protocol and have been cleared to play.
Finally, receiver Russell Gage, center Alex Mack and running back Kenjon Barner were full participants in practice on Friday and will return to action.
For the Cardinals, inside linebackers Dennis Gardeck (ankle) and Zeke Turner (hamstring) were both declared out for Sunday’s game along with safety Charles Washington (shoulder).
Arizona has listed eight players as questionable for Sunday. Starting running back David Johnson is suffering from a back injury. Along with Johnson on the questionable list are linebackers Haason Reddick (shoulder) and Terrell Suggs (back), receivers Damiere Byrd (hamstring) and Christian Kirk (ankle), punter Andy Lee (right hip), defensive end Zach Allen (neck) and cornerback Trevor Williams (hip)
