Falcons Named No. 1 'Bandwagon' Team in 2023?

As the Atlanta Falcons hope to be in the contention for the NFC South in 2023, a recent article is predicting them to be a "bandwagon" team.

Postseason expectations have crept into the Atlanta Falcons fanbase after a strong offseason where the team made improvements across the board. Coming out of a rebuild with the potential of making the playoffs on the road ahead, the Falcons could be a team that catches many eyes.

With this in mind, a recent article from NFL.com named the Falcons the No. 1 bandwagon team heading into the season.

"I think [the Falcons] is the NFL's sleeper squad in 2023," Adam Schein wrote. "While I named the rival Saints as my Cinderella team after the signing of Derek Carr in March, I believe both NFC South teams can win 10-plus games this year.

"First of all, I'm a big fan of Arthur Smith. Despite going 7-10 in each of his first two seasons in the big chair, Smith is a fabulous coach. The third year will indeed be the charm, given the growth and upgrading of the roster."

The Falcons built through the NFL Draft this offseason and utilized free agency to fill holes on their roster. However, after biting the bullet on the big contracts the past regime handed out to Matt Ryan and Julio Jones, general manager Terry Fontenot bided his time until the time was right to splash the cash.

The splash of the cash resulted in the Falcons landing veteran defensive linemen Calais Campbell, David Onyemata, and Bud Dupree, along with safety Jessie Bates and linebacker Kaden Elliss.
