Falcons RB Bijan Robinson 'Overvalued' in Fantasy Football?

Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is projected to be RB4 by Fantasy Data before even taking a snap in an NFL game.

Even before playing a down in the NFL, Atlanta Falcons running back Bijan Robinson is projected to be one of the best at his position in fantasy football.

But is that warranted?

Bleacher Report isn't fully onboard with Robinson being ranked as RB4 by Fantasy Data. Bleacher Report's questions aren't because of Robinson's talent. It wonders what his role will be in a potentially crowded Atlanta backfield.

"Robinson is an exciting addition to the offense, but his current RB4 status is curiously high for Atlanta's situation," Bleacher Report writes.

The Falcons also have Tyler Allgeier, who ran for 1,035 yards and three touchdowns in his rookie season. Cordarrale Patterson also figures to see time in the backfield after running for 695 yards and eight touchdowns in 2022.

While Allgeier and Patterson were productive last season, Robinson should be the guy after getting drafted No. 8 overall in the 2023 NFL draft.

Robinson was touted as the best running back prospect since Saquon Barkley in 2018. Robinson's play at Texas warranted the hype, as he ran for 1,580 yards and 18 touchdowns in 2022. He also had 314 receiving yards and two touchdowns through the air in his final season as a Longhorn.

Atlanta had the second-best rushing attack in 2022, running for nearly 160 yards a game. The Falcons didn't just take Robinson in the top 10 to be another piece to their rushing attack. The Falcons took him to elevate the offense to another level.

If Robinson can live up to those expectations, being RB4 isn't overvaluing the rookie running back.
