Falcons Announce Several Coaching Staff Changes Before NFL Combine

The Atlanta Falcons' coaching staff is beginning to take shape - but not every vacancy has been filled.

INDIANAPOLIS -- The Atlanta Falcons have made a flurry of changes to their coaching staff ahead of the NFL Scouting Combine.

After defensive coordinator Dean Pees retired, Falcons coach Arthur Smith cleaned house on defensive position coaches, keeping only inside linebackers coach Frank Bush on staff.

Smith hired Ryan Nielsen from the New Orleans Saints to fulfill Pees' vacancy ... and has now made several additional moves.

Per release, the Falcons have named ...

- Steve Jackson as secondary coach

- Dave Huxtable as senior defensive analyst

- Nick Perry as assistant receivers coach

- Shawn Flaherty as assistant offensive line coach

- Lanier Goethie as defensive front specialist

- Patrick Kramer as offensive assistant

- Steven King as offensive assistant

- Mario Jeberaeel as special projects, defense

- Matt Baker special teams assistant

- Michael Gray as football analyst

- Mateo Kambui as Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellow/offensive line

Notably, Jackson replaces the fired Jon Hoke, but the Falcons still have several open slots on their coaching staff, including outside linebackers, defensive line and quarterbacks, which arose after incumbent Charles London left for a slight title upgrade with the Tennessee Titans

The Falcons will use offensive coordinator Dave Ragone, a former college and professional signal caller, as the quarterbacks coach, replacing London.
