Insider: Falcons 'Probably' Hiring Bill Belichick

A new report has further confirmed the rumors that Bill Belichick is the favorite to become the Atlanta Falcons next coach.

It has been 12 days since the Atlanta Falcons decided to move on from now-former coach Arthur Smith, and if the recent reports suggest anything, it seems their coaching search could be winding down.

In fact, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, there is a belief inside the organization that the Falcons know who they'll "probably" hire.

"I've talked to people even involved in the search who have interviewed with Atlanta who believe that [Bill Belichick is] probably going to get this job," Fowler said on SportsCenter. "Keep in mind, the belief from the people I've talked to is that this is his sole option right now. It's not like he's interviewing for other jobs. I haven't heard of him in the mix for any of these other opportunities."

This only seemingly confirms earlier reports of the Falcons taking a "big swing" at trying to land the legendary Bill Belichick after his 24-year tenure ended in New England with a "mutual parting of ways" following a disastrous 4-13 season.

Not only that but so far, Belichick is the only candidate that has interviewed with the Falcons twice. Yet, he won't be the only one, as the Falcons did announce via Twitter that a second interview with current Michigan Wolverines coach Jim Harbaugh has been scheduled.

This certainly paints a picture of Belichick and Harbaugh potentially being at the top of the Falcons' wishlist. However, even with that potentially being the case, the Falcons have scheduled interviews with former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel, and Houston Texans offensive coordinator Bobby Slowik

While they've requested permission to interview Buffalo Bills' offensive play-caller Joe Brady and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris.

Whoever the choice is for the Falcons, they'll have the task of taking a team that underperformed last season to the postseason.
