Jalen Ramsey Doubles Down On Praise For Falcons' Raheem Morris: 'He's The Best!'

Atlanta Falcons coach Raheem Morris has a huge cheerleader in his former player, All-Pro cornerback Raheem Morris.

ORLANDO - More than a week since his hiring, Raheem Morris' peers are still coming out in droves to congratulate him on becoming the next head coach of the Atlanta Falcons.

Players and coaches who have had the privilege of working with Morris have near-unanimously commended him on landing the new job, a testament to him being one of the most-respected leaders in the league.

Arguably the most-vocal player in supporting Morris has been Miami Dolphins cornerback Jalen Ramsey, who learned under him for two years with the Los Angeles Rams. The three-time All-Pro already expressed his support for Morris on social media when the hiring happened, calling him "one of, if not the best coach in the NFL." Then at this weekend's Pro Bowl Games, Ramsey only doubled down on his praise.

“He the best for sure," Ramsey said on Friday. "He a good defensive mind, and really whole offense, he taught me so much, and he’s also a players coach he can translate, he knows relationships matter, and he’s probably the best I’ve ever been around."

Morris, 47, is about to embark on his third venture as an NFL head coach, as he previously led the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011 and the Falcons on an interim basis in 2020. While his record as a head coach may not be outstanding, Morris has grown dramatically as a coach over the past several years, and anyone who's been with him in that time would agree.

Ramsey not only believes that the Morris hire will be great for the coach, but for the Falcons' top players as well. When asked if he believed Pro Bowl safety Jessie Bates III would thrive under Morris, Ramsey replied, “100 percent, 100 percent.”

The Falcons went in an unexpected direction when hiring Morris, passing over several coaches with larger profiles. To Ramsey and many others, though, the Falcons were the team to finally give Morris the opportunity he deserved.
