Atlanta Falcons RB Bijan Robinson Talks Ugly Win vs. New York Jets: 'One of Those Games!'

The Atlanta Falcons are still finding ways to win, even if it isn't always pretty.

Regardless of how they did it, the Atlanta Falcons moved to 6-6 to remain alone atop the NFC South after beating the New York Jets 13-8 at MetLife Stadium on Sunday.

Offense was certainly hard to come by for both teams, and it's tough to put all that blame on the rain. But the Falcons showed that they can win the ugly games, something they'll need to continue to prove down the season's final stretch if they're to make any noise in the playoffs while potentially having home-field advantage in the Wild Card.

Falcons running back Bijan Robinson will be a major part of this potential late-season success. It took him a bit to get going before finishing with 18 carries for 53 yards and three catches for 26 yards, but he admitted the weather was a "big factor" in negatively impacting the offense.

"Yeah, it was just one of those games," Robinson said. "Like you said, the weather was all messed up a little bit and it was constantly raining. We wanted to get some drives going and there was stuff that happened, but that weather was a big factor for us, but that’s why we just have to finish as much as we can, get as many first downs as we can, and try to score if we have an opportunity."

Sunday's game didn't start out well for him and the Falcons. Robinson was tackled in the end zone last in the first quarter to give New York the rare 2-0 lead on the safety. This was sandwiched in between three punts and 23 total yards of offense on Atlanta's first four drives before the Falcons took a 7-2 lead and never looked back following a touchdown early in the second quarter.

The Falcons currently only have one team with a winning record left on their schedule, as they'll face the Indianapolis Colts (7-5) on Christmas Eve in Week 16. Atlanta could find itself in more sloppy games down the stretch, but squeaking out key wins over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (Week 14) and New Orleans Saints (5-7) would secure the division for Atlanta.

The Falcons will take on the Bucs at Mercedes-Benz Stadium on Sunday at 1 p.m. ET.
