After enduring a torn MCL in a Week 11 game against the Chicago Bears last season, Atlanta Falcons defensive lineman Ta'Quon Graham recently reached a significant milestone in his recovery.

Graham participated in his first full practice session on Tuesday during the Falcons' final practice open to the media before training camp. After Tuesday's practice, Graham talked about the demanding journey he had to undergo while reflecting on his rehabilitation process.

"Like I was in the dungeon for months, just working," Graham said.

The dedicated hours of work and effort have evidently paid off for Graham, as he pleasantly surprised himself with his physical condition and performance during Tuesday's practice.

"It felt good. Felt surprisingly good," Graham said. "I felt strong and confident and good moving around."

Before his injury, Graham displayed promise during his second season in 2022, making a solid contribution with 34 tackles across 11 games. This marked a significant improvement compared to his rookie season in 2021, during which he recorded 15 tackles in 13 games.

During the offseason, Falcons' general manager, Terry Fontenot, made it a top priority to bolster their defensive line by acquiring notable talents through free agency, such as David Onyemata, Calais Campbell, and Bud Dupree.

As these new additions integrate into the team and carve out their roles, Graham now finds himself facing intensified competition in his quest for a starting position. However, Graham's impressive display last season further reinforces his potential to succeed as a starting defensive lineman.
