DeAndre Hopkins Trade Suitors: Atlanta Falcons Listed Among 5 'Interested'

Are the Falcons "one move away''? Maybe. Are they "one of at least five interested'' in a DeAndre Hopkins trade? So it seems.

DeAndre Hopkins is on the trade block, and the Atlanta Falcons - maybe still looking for wide receivers to team up with Drake London - are being mentioned as a suitor.

Maybe even a top-five suitor.

Here's NFL insider Benjamin Allbright on DeAndre Hopkins suitors: “Teams I’m told are interested with the possible capital to pull off a trade for Hopkins include (but aren’t limited to) the New England Patriots, New York Giants, Tennessee Titans and Atlanta Falcons.”

The Falcons this offseason have added Mack Hollins and of course there are high hopes for tight end Kyle Pitts.

But the best receiver on the trade market ... and one of the best of his generation? That's "Nuk'' from the Arizona Cardinals, who as they begin to rebuild are willing to part with the star.

We're told Arizona wants "a second-round pick plus.'' For the Cardinals, though, the market isn't seeming to bear that; some might argue that the Dallas Cowboys' cheap deal for Houston's Brandin Cooks has lowered the price bar here.

After a dominant 2020 season where he posted 1,407 yards, Hopkins only has 1,289 in the last two seasons combined. Granted, he only played in 10 games in 2021 and was limited to nine in 2022 due to suspension and injury.

Hopkins turns 31 this offseason, so he is on the backside. But his salary/cap issues are exaggerated; he's under contract for the next two years at an average of $17.2 million per on the cap.

Are the Falcons "one move away''? Maybe. Are they "one of at least five interested''? So it seems.
