Justin Fields Trade Rumors: 'Multiple Teams' Make Inquiry - Bears Deal to Falcons?

Justin Fields is hot on the trade radar. Could the Atlanta Falcons reach out to the Chicago Bears?

The Atlanta Falcons offseason will be defined by what they do at the quarterback position.

The most-important position in football has been the Falcons' greatest weakness over the past two seasons, and one could argue that it single-handedly cost them a playoff spot in 2023. Between Desmond Ridder and Taylor Heinicke, it's clear that the answer at quarterback is not currently on the roster.

Atlanta could draft a quarterback at No. 8 overall, but the best prospects in the draft could be gone by that point. Another option that may hold more promise is acquiring one through trade, and if the Falcons go that route, one quarterback stands out.

According to SI's Albert Breer, multiple teams spoke with the Chicago Bears about trading for Justin Fields at the Senior Bowl.

Fields, a Georgia native, could very well be on the trade market with his team holding the first overall pick once again. If so, the Falcons could bring Fields home and potentially find their next great quarterback in the process.

Fields, who began his college career at Georgia before transferring to Ohio State, is entering the final year of his rookie deal and the Bears have not yet picked up his fifth-year option. If the Falcons were to acquire him, then they'd likely have to make a decision on said option before he even plays for them. There's also the fact that Fields could cost Atlanta some valuable draft capital, probably a second- or third-round pick.

Trading for Fields certainly carries a lot of risk, but with the Falcons' current situation, it could be a risk well worth taking.
