NFL Draft: LSU WR Malik Nabers to Falcons?

Malik Nabers could be an option for the Atlanta Falcons with the No. 8 overall pick in this year's draft.

The Atlanta Falcons have drafted a skill player with the No. 8 overall pick for the past two years, and there's a chance they could do so again at next month's NFL Draft.

The 33rd Team listed four prospects the Falcons could take at No. 8, including LSU wideout Malik Nabers.

Nabers would be a huge help for newly-signed quarterback Kirk Cousins and give Atlanta another weapon to play with.

Nabers, widely-considered the No. 2 receiver in the draft behind Ohio State's Marvin Harrison Jr., was asked at the NFL Scouting Combine if he would prefer to play for the Falcons or the Tennessee Titans, and swiftly answered with the former.

“Oof,” Nabers said. “Uh, that’s pretty good. I ain’t gonna lie, Atlanta wouldn’t be too bad.”

Nabers didn't mean to slight the Titans, as he also said that his meeting with them "went pretty good." Even if they took it as a slight, the Titans pick one spot ahead of the Falcons and also need receiver help, so they take him away from Atlanta if they wish to.

Still, Nabers having a preference for the Falcons is great news for them. The Tigers star was one of the best receivers in the country last season, catching 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns. He also did this playing across from Brian Thomas Jr., another projected first-round pick who had over 1,000 yards himself, making Nabers a very compelling option if he was available with the No. 8 pick.

The NFL Draft is scheduled from April 25-27.
