The Jacksonville Jaguars have released their inactives list for today's AFC South game vs. the Indianapolis Colts and Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis at 1 p.m. and luckily for Jacksonville, the Jaguars only have one player sitting with an injury.

Tight end Seth DeValve was listed Friday as doubtful for today's game vs. the Colts with an oblique injury. Aside from him, the rest of the inactive Jaguars are players being sat as healthy scratches.

The following Jaguars players are listed as inactive today:

  • QB Joshua Dobbs
  • WR C.J. Board
  • RB Tyler Ervin
  • CB Tae Hayes
  • OL Brandon Thomas
  • TE Seth DeValve
  • DT Dontavius Russell

The two most notable names on here aside from DeValve, who has been the Jaguars' primary tight end since James O'Shaughnessy and Geoff Swaim were lost to injury, are Joshua Dobbs and Tyler Ervin.

Ervin has been on-and-off as the Jaguars' primary kick and punt returner this season but was displaced last week with rookie wide receiver Michael Walker taking on the role instead. Today it is likely that Walker or wide receiver Dede Westbrook takes up returning duties. Ervin being inactive also means Devine Ozigbo will be the official No. 3 running back today.

As for Dobbs, it has always been obvious he was not going to have much of a role on game days once Nick Foles returned from the clavicle injury he sustained in Week 1. Jacksonville traded away a fifth-round pick to acquire Dobbs from the Pittsburgh Steelers shortly after Foles was injured.

For that fifth-round pick, Jacksonville got eight games of Dobbs' serving as Gardner Minshew II's backup before the veteran quarterback became a healthy scratch on game day. Minshew will backup Foles today and be the team's only other active quarterback.
