Jaguars Meet With LSU's Malik Nabers Before Pro Day

Could the LSU star become Trevor Lawrence's new No. 1 WR?

Could the Jacksonville Jaguars have their eyes on adding an impact wide receiver in next month's NFL Draft?

According to NFL Network's Cameron Wolfe, the Jaguars are one of a number of teams that met with star LSU wide receiver Malik Nabers ahead of his Wednesday pro day.

A former four-star recruit, Nabers developed into one of the nation's best wide receivers during his time at LSU. He started 17 games in his first two seasons, catching 100 passes for 1,434 yards and seven touchdowns before a breakout season in 2023.

In 2023, Nabers caught 89 passes for 1,569 yards and 14 touchdowns, ranking third in the FBS in touchdown catches.

Nabers then had a standout performance at his pro day, recording a 42-inch vertical jump and running a 40-yard dash between the low 4.3s and high 4.4s.

Jacksonville lost Calvin Ridley in free agency but did add former Buffalo Bills wide receiver Gabe Davis. While Davis is joined in the offense by Christian Kirk, Evan Engram, and Zay Jones, it stands to reason the Jaguars could envision a potential blockbuster trade up for a top receiver prospect like Nabers.

"You know we feel like we’re a pretty good passing team overall.  We’re right around a top-10 passing offense and we can improve there. The injuries affected us late in the season when [WR] Christian [Kirk] missed his five games and Zay [WR Zay Jones] wasn’t healthy every week, you had [WR] Calvin [Ridley] and [TE] Evan [Engram] out there playing," Jaguars head caoch Doug Pederson said this week at the league's owners meetings.
