Tight End University has kicked off again this week for the third straight year, with a familiar face in attendance.

Jacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram is among a multitude of different current and former players at the position, with over 70 players are attending this year’s session.

Founded in 2021 by famous tight ends, Greg Olsen, Travis Kelce, and George Kittle, Tight End University was created with the intention to bring together members of the tight end community to bond, collaborate with, and learn amongst their peers while participating in a variety of activities according to the official Tight End University website.

The program also makes consistent efforts to give back to the community through a variety of charitable initiatives and donate all money raised to charities selected by the program’s hosts per the official Tight End University website.

For Engram, getting the chance at added practice and being able to pick the brains of current and former tight ends will only benefit him after a career season in 2022.

In 17 games played in 2022, Engram posted a career high 766 receiving yards on 73 receptions with four receiving touchdowns according to Pro Football Reference. The 28-year-old was an integral part of the Jaguars passing game, and a player that general manager Trent Baalke made clear in April they want to keep around for the long-term.

“That’s the goal. The goal is to get this thing done," Jaguars general manager Trent Baalke said about Engram on April 20, ahead of the NFL Draft. "These negotiations always have ups and downs as you go through the process and you’re just trying to come to a common goal of getting him signed. I think we’re trending in that direction, but we’re not there yet. We’re continuing to work to get him signed to a long-term extension, and hopefully we can get that done.”
