A few days after flying to Houston to see a back specialist for a nagging back injury, Jacksonville Jaguars star cornerback Jalen Ramsey is returning to the Jaguars practice field on Wednesday.

Ramsey had missed seven consecutive practices following the Jaguars week 3 victory over the Tennessee Titans on Thursday Night Football. He will be limited during Wednesday's practice.

The back injury, which the Jaguars said occurred during the Titans game, has sideline Ramsey over the last two weeks, the only games Ramsey has ever missed in his NFL career.

"Today we expect him to be outside and we are going to try to a little bit more. Just keep testing it and pushing it. He is working extremely hard to get back, and everyone is doing everything they can," Jaguars head coach Doug Marrone said Wednesday. "You guys will see him out there today and we will take it day-by-day."

Marrone said the back specialist's report aligned with what the Jaguars doctors were seeing with Ramsey's injury. Ramsey is no sure thing to play against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday, but this is already the most active Ramsey has been in the last several weeks.

"I think we are just going to take it step-by-step," Marrone said.

Ramsey has had a public standoff with the Jaguars after requesting a trade following the team's week 2 loss to the Houston Texans. Despite the request, he played vs. the Titans. Jaguars owner Shad Khan has said publicly the team is not looking to deal Ramsey.
