WATCH: Most glaring Week 3 numbers for New York Jets

Let's take another look at New York's 30-14 loss to the New England Patriots; this time by the numbers.

The New York Jets (0-3) were absolutely manhandled by the New England Patriots (3-0) Sunday afternoon, suffering a demoralizing 30-14 road loss that saw them record just six first downs and 105 yards of total offense.

The Jets are in a state of severe dysfunction and with their season already on the brink, they need to right the ship before it’s too late.

Luckily, Gang Green will head into a fortunately-timed bye week in Week 4 and will hopefully find a way to dig themselves out of the 0-3 hole they find themselves in.

However, before we focus our attention on the team’s adjustments and - more likely - Sam Darnold’s health, let’s take one last look back at Week 3; this time, by the numbers.

0

The Jets scored no offensive touchdowns for the second consecutive week, with both of the team’s scores coming on a muffed punt return by Arthur Maulet and a pick-six by Jamal Adams.

1.9

Le’Veon Bell averaged just 1.9 yards per rush (35 yards on 18 attempts) on Sunday tying the single-game career-low mark he set in Week 8 of his rookie year (2013).

3

The Jets have now dropped their first three contests to start the year, marking the first time since 2003 in which the franchise has started a season with an 0-3 record.

6

Adams’ pick-six of Pats quarterback Jarrett Stidham was the first defensive score of his young career.

Wideout Braxton Berrios, of all players, led New York offense with six targets against the Patriots. The sophomore receiver also finished the day with team-high 29 yards receiving.

New York had just six plays end with a first down on Sunday afternoon.

8

Tom Brady rarely makes mistakes in front of the Gillette Stadium crowd, but he’s been especially sharp against the Jets when playing at home in recent years. Sunday’s victory over Gang Green marks the eighth straight home contest in which Brady didn’t throw an interception.

14

There aren’t many positives that Gang Green can take away from their loss to the Pats, but the one thing they can hang their hat on is the 14 points they scored. New England had not allowed a single touchdown coming into this contest and the 14 points the Jets scored were the most the Pats have allowed in a single contest all season.

17

Successfully converting on third-and-10 plus is hard no matter how talented a team may be, but the Jets have seriously struggled to find a way to keep the chains moving in those situations.

After Sunday’s loss, the Jets have failed to get a first down in their last 17 third-and-10-plus situations.

40:11

New York’s offense barely crossed midfield on its first drive of the afternoon, but couldn’t seem to get anything going against the Patriots on Sunday.

After punting from the New England 49 in the first quarter, the Jets wouldn’t run another play on the Patriots’ side of the field until 2:27 left in the third quarter, 40:11 later.

105

Gang Green’s 105 yards of total offense on Sunday afternoon is the lowest single-game total of Adam Gase’s head-coaching career.

Gase’s previous career low of 172 yards was set during the 2018 season against - oddly enough - the Patriots in Foxborough.

106

Gillette Stadium is a tough place to play for any team in the league, but it’s been a house of horrors for Gang Green over the past four years.

In its last four contests on New England’s home turf, New York has been outscored by a total of 106 points (135 to 29).
