Lions Sign Rookie Antoine Green
Antoine Green is the latest 2023 draft pick that has signed with the Detroit Lions.
Detroit's newest wide receiver reportedly signed a contract that is for four years, $3.956 million, and comes with a $110,760 signing bonus. The North Carolina wideout was drafted by the Lions in the seventh round.
Colby Sorsdal was the first member of the Lions' 2023 draft class to ink his name on the dotted line.
Detroit's rookie minicamp runs from May 12-14 at the team's Allen Park facility.
Green is expected to compete for a roster spot. The wide receiver position is in need of depth with two players already released and a third, Jameson Williams, suspended for the first six games of the regular season.
At North Carolina, Green totaled 90 receptions for 1,710 yards and 15 scores.
According to the team's website, "He showed excellent hands almost always catching the ball away from his frame and quickly and explosively transitioning from receiver to run-after-catch. While there were not many reps in which we saw routes between the numbers and run-after-catch the few plays that were on tape clearly showed that Green could do both effectively."
