What was supposed to be a day off for the Lions and a day of reflection turned into quite the afternoon on Tuesday.

Lions head man Matt Patricia started his weekly teleconference by informing the media that starting running back Kerryon Johnson had a procedure on his injured right knee.

Johnson has been placed on injured reserve, and is not eligible to return for at least eight weeks.

As fans reacted to the news, another stunning development occurred.

NFL Network reporter Tom Pelissero reported that the Lions were trading safety Quandre Diggs and a seventh-round pick in 2021 to the Seahawks for a fifth-round pick in 2020.

This sent shockwaves that reverberated all over metro Detroit.
