Was backup quarterback Jeff Driskel given enough time to prepare for the Bears?

Following the Lions' 20-13 loss to the Bears Sunday, players were asked when they found out that Matthew Stafford was going to sit out the Week 10 contest.

According to reporters, players expressed that they knew yesterday.

According to MLive reporter Kyle Meinke, Stafford was telling people yesterday he would not be able to play.

Yet, Driskel said he found out this morning that he was starting.

Detroit head man Matt Patricia stated in the postgame that the decision to sit Stafford was made on Sunday after meeting with medical personnel.

If Stafford indeed was not likely to play as early as Friday or Saturday, why wasn't Driskel informed?

It certainly would've given the former Florida and Louisiana Tech passer a better chance to properly prepare for his first start with the Lions.
