GREEN BAY, Wis. – The Green Bay Packers remain the betting favorite to capture the last playoff spot in the NFC, but the odds made a major shift following Monday night’s loss to the Giants.

Green Bay entered Monday -210 to make the playoffs at FanDuel Sportsbook. By implied probability, that meant a 67.4 percent chance the Packers would be playing a game on Wild Card Weekend.

After all, with a victory over New York, Green Bay would improve to 7-6 and be a game up in the playoff standings with control of tiebreakers against a couple of the pursuers.

Following the embarrassing debacle against the Giants, the Packers are at the head of the pack of a five-way logjam of teams with 6-7 records. However, with no margin for error, their odds moved to +104. By implied probability, that’s 49.0 percent just to get in the race for the Super Bowl.

Updated playoff odds reflect the tightness of the race.

4. Tampa Bay (6-7 but leading NFC South): +110. Implied probability: 47.6 percent.

6. Minnesota (7-6): -210. Implied probability: 67.4 percent.

7. Green Bay: (6-7): +104. Implied probability: 49.0 percent.

8. L.A. Rams (6-7): +184. Implied probability: 35.2 percent.

9. Seattle (6-7): +260. Implied probability: 27.8 percent.

10. Atlanta (6-7): +142. Implied probability: 41.3 percent.

11. New Orleans (6-7): +146. Implied probability: 40.7 percent.

The Minnesota Vikings, who improved to 7-6 with an ugly 3-0 win over the Raiders, are a game ahead of everyone else in the chase for the final two NFC playoff spots.

No matter the result against the Giants, the schedule would seem to give the Packers an edge in the race for the final two playoff spots.

“You want to keep the streak going, but it’s the NFL,” safety Jonathan Owens said. “Quick turnaround, though. We got Tampa Bay coming into Green Bay. It hurts. It’ll be a tough plane ride back but we’ve got to flip the script, get back on a run.”
