Green Bay Packers vs. Denver Broncos Prediction for NFL Week 7

The Packers enter this Week 7 contest off their BYE, which although early in the season, could not have come at a better time, following consecutive primetime losses at the hands of the Lions and Las Vegas Raiders. Additionally, the Packers had been hampered with a series of injuries, so this rest week provided ample R&R. While left tackle David Bakhtiari is out for the season and linebackers De'vondre Campbell and Quay Walker remain questionable for Sunday’s clash in Denver, the Pack are perhaps the healthiest they have been all season.

With Christian Watson active and Aaron Jones trending to play – arguably the team’s two best weapons, who have only played 11 snaps together until this point – we expect Green Bay’s offense to look impressive at full strength off the BYE against a Denver defense that surrendered 70 points a few weeks ago.

At 2-3, the Packers sit in second place in the NFC North, 2.5 games behind the 5-1 Lions and in the backend of a thick wild card chase. If the Packers have any hopes of becoming a playoff team, getting back to .500 with a win over the lowly 1-5 Broncos is an absolute must.

For the Broncos, the 1-5 start to the Sean Payton era is a tad surprising. Given his successful tenure in New Orleans and Russell Wilson’s storied career, we thought the Broncos were headed for a much cleaner campaign following a debacle of a season in 2022-23.

While the defense has shown some slight improvements since the 70 points allowed to the Dolphins, the offense has struggled mightily with consistency, aided by a failure to establish the running game. Last time out, the Broncos suffered a 19-8 loss in Kansas City on Thursday Night Football, as the offense failed to surpass 200 total yards, committing three turnovers. The one thing going for this team is 10 days of rest going into Sunday’s home game.

So, will the team with 13 days of rest or 10 days of rest take this one? We trust the Packers’ young offense to find a groove at full strength while their adequate defense holds down the fort. Injuries and inconsistent play from quarterback Jordan Love have plagued the Packers, where a lack of execution, consistency and chemistry all around has plagued the Broncos. Therefore, we believe the Packers are the better team and Packers -1.5 (-106 at FanDuel) is our official Packers vs. Broncos prediction and best bet.

Packers vs. Broncos Player Prop Picks & Best Bets Highlighting Romeo Doubs & Javonte Williams

Romeo Doubs’ lackluster Week 5 performance in Las Vegas was a microcosm of the Packers’ offense struggling mightily as a whole. In a game where Love only completed 16 passes and tossed three interceptions, Doubs was only targeted four times, reeling in one catch for four yards. Some might say the addition of Watson pushed Doubs to the background, but when this offense is clicking, there is plenty to go around.

With Jones and Watson on the field, Doubs may not return to the 12 and 13 targets he received in Weeks 3 and 4, respectively, but he is still a key component in this offense. One catch for four yards should easily be his lowest production of the season, and we like him to have a big bounce-back game against a Broncos secondary that has struggled outside of Patrick Surtain II, who will likely shadow Watson for much of this game.

The Packers need Doubs, and we think a more involved performance will show in a big way come Sunday. Take Doubs over 38.5 receiving yards (-114 at FanDuel) as one of our top Packers vs. Broncos player prop bets.

To spread the love, we also have a Packers vs. Broncos player prop bet on the Denver side. Javonte Williams’ workload has been managed so far this season after a devastating LCL and MCL injury early in 2022. He has yet to carry the ball more than 13 times in a game, but in the five games he has been completely active, he has also produced a minimum of 42 yards. Last time out, he went for 52 yards on 10 carries.

The Packers’ defense thrives in its secondary and in its pass rush, but they have always been susceptible to the run under defensive coordinator Joe Barry. Especially when two starting linebackers may be unavailable, we like Williams to post his most effective and efficient game yet. Back Williams over 50.5 rushing yards (-114 at FanDuel).

Packers Trade Rumors: Jerry Jeudy to GB?

A variety of media outlets have speculated and reported that a trade between the Packers and Broncos ahead of this Week 7 clash is possible. All reports concern one big name: Jerry Jeudy. Jeudy is a former first-round pick who, with injuries and media backlash, has struggled to cement himself as a true WR1 in Denver.

A change of scenery could be needed, and given the Broncos’ 1-5 record, reports detail an urgency to trade the young wide receiver before the October 31 trade deadline. The Packers could use more star power at receiver, so with two second-round picks in the upcoming draft to Denver’s none, there is potential for a trade to work out here.
