Carolina Sits Near the Top in Available Cap Space

There's money to be spent.

Even after the free agent signings of QB Andy Dalton, RB Miles Sanders, WR Adam Thielen, WR D.J. Chark, TE Hayden Hurst, C Bradley Bozeman, OL Jordan McCray, DL Shy Tuttle, DL DeShawn Williams, S Vonn Bell, and K Eddy Pineiro, the Panthers have money to spend. And lots of it.

According to Spotrac, the Panthers have the second-most cap space in the NFL with roughly $27.9 million available. About $12.7 million of that will be stashed to the side for their rookie pool which gives them the ability to still make another move or two in the summer to help fill the final remaining gaps prior to the start of training camp.

The one big move Carolina would like to get done at some point this offseason is the extension of pass rusher, Brian Burns. GM Scott Fitterer told reporters last week, "I just talked to Brian's agent, not so much about him but that's something that we will probably look at after the draft."
