Panthers Officially Interview Brian Callahan for Head Coaching Job

Add another to the interview list.

Thursday afternoon, the Carolina Panthers announced that they have completed a virtual interview with Cincinnati Bengals offensive coordinator Brian Callahan for the head coaching position.

Brian is the son of Bill Callahan, who is considered to be one of the NFL's best offensive line coaches.

Brian Callahan did an admirable job this year with Jake Browning who won four of his seven starts in place of the injured Joe Burrow and threw for 1,936 yards and 12 touchdowns to seven interceptions. Going back to last season, Callahan's offense ranked 7th in total yards per game (257.9) and 7th in points per game (25.7).

Panthers interim head coach Chris Tabor, Panthers defensive coordinator Ejiro Evero, Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken, Ravens defensive coordinator Mike Macdonald, Dolphins offensive coordinator Frank Smith, Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn, and Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris have also interviewed for the job. 

According to Jeremy Fowler of ESPN, Buccaneers OC Dave Canales is expected to meet withe Carolina today as well.

In-person interviews can not take place until Monday, January 22nd.
