NFL Trade Rumor: Las Vegas Raiders' Davante Adams to New England Patriots?

The New England Patriots could upgrade their offense tremendously with a Davante Adams trade.

The New England Patriots are struggling at the receiver position.

The team has a gaggle of disappointing veterans in JuJu Smith-Schuster, DeVante Parker, Kendrick Bourne and unproven late-round rookies Kayshon Boutte and Demario Douglas.

Perhaps the team could use a boost at the position, and it can come via the trade market. Bleacher Report suggests that the Pats should trade for Las Vegas Raiders wideout Davante Adams.

"The Patriots desperately need a receiver of Adams' caliber," Bleacher Report writes. "With the most cap available of any team in 2024, they have the money to pay the superstar wideout. Adams would represent, by far, the most talented wideout quarterback Mac Jones has worked with since his time at Alabama."

Adams, 30, erupted on Sunday Night Football last week against a staunch Pittsburgh Steelers defense with 13 catches for 172 yards and two touchdowns. To put it in perspective, Adams had more yards in one game than any Patriots receiver has in three contests combined.

Adding Adams to the offense would give Mac Jones a trusted target that he can rely on and open up several other weapons within the Patriots offense.

The relationship between the Patriots brass and the former New England people of interest out in Sin City could connect the dots on a trade if it were to happen. However, the Pats would have to give up a significant amount of capital to pry Adams away from Las Vegas.

That being said, the Patriots desperately need a top receiver and Adams would give them that and then some considering he's still one of the elite wideouts in the NFL.
