The Las Vegas Raiders are looking to add young talent to their roster through the 2024 NFL Draft.

There is a new regime in Las Vegas, as Coach Antonio Pierce and General Manager Tom Telesco will team up to find the Raiders’ newest members. They are looking for players who fit the culture they want to establish.

The Raiders finished the 2023 season with an impressive defense but could look to add more pieces to it so that defense can excel over the course of a full season. They have good players in their defensive back room, but several cornerbacks have star potential.

One of those corners is Alabama’s Terrion Arnold. A First-Team All-American and First-Team All-SEC member in 2023, Arnold is one of the top overall players in the class.

Arnold finished his Crimson Tide career with 108 tackles, seven and a half tackles for loss, a forced fumble, 20 passes defended, and six interceptions. He had five interceptions in 2023 alone.

Arnold was part of a talented Crimson Tide secondary, including another potential first-round cornerback Kool-Aid McKinstry.

The Las Vegas Raiders could make Alabama's Terrion Arnold their No. 1 cornerback of the future through the 2024 NFL Draft.

Arnold is six feet tall and weighs 196 pounds. He has prototypical NFL cornerback size and plays with some of the best technique in the class. He, along with Iowa’s Cooper DeJean and Clemson’s Nate Wiggins, is arguably the best cornerback in the draft class.

Arnold excels in coverage. According to Pro Football Focus, he was targeted 131 times in his two seasons at Alabama, allowing just 69 receptions for 824 yards and four touchdowns. He has good speed and long arms, which allow him to get physical with his receiver. He is a great athlete, which enables him to flip his hips and cover ground.

Arnold’s technique and IQ are some of the best in the class. He is elite at recognizing routes and has some of the best click-and-close ability out of all defensive backs in the class.

However, he can get overly physical, and an athlete of his caliber may not be suited for a zone defense, which limits his versatility. If the Raiders select him, he would likely be only a man corner.

Arnold will likely be available when the Raiders are on the board at No. 13. They could select him and make him their top cornerback of the future, which would bolster their defense for years.

From February 27 to March 4, 2024, the NFL Scouting Combine will be held at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.

The NFL Draft will be held in Detroit, Mich., on April 25-27, 2024. The Las Vegas Raiders currently hold the No. 13 overall pick.
